OBJECTIVES:

The workshop will cover a broad range of issues in gravity and theoretical aspects of cosmology. Some concrete examples of relevant topics are gravitational instabilities and collapse problems, singularity resolution, canonical approaches to gravity quantization and quantum cosmology, statistics of fluctuations in cosmological spacetimes, primordial black holes, cosmological dynamics of fundamental constants, etc. The talks are expected to be informal and interactive, with a substantial pedagogical component. We strongly encourage blackboard presentations.

Previous editions: 2025 2024

Other theoretical physics meetings at the same venue in January 2026:

13th BANGKOK WORKSHOP ON HIGH-ENERGY THEORY

8th BANGKOK WORKSHOP ON DISCRETE GEOMETRY, DYNAMICS AND STATISTICS

PRE- AND POST-WORKSHOP RESIDENCE PROGRAM:

Participants are invited to remain in residence for informal communication and collaboration during the weeks preceding (January 26-30) and succeeding (February 9-13) the workshop.

REGISTRATION:

Please fill in the online form in order to register.

All participants are self-funded and do not receive any subsidies from the organizers.

VENUE:

The workshop will be held at the physics department of Chulalongkorn University (commonly abbreviated as "Chula"), Thailand's leading school in natural science fields centrally located in the modernized Pathumwan district of Bangkok.

PRACTICALITIES:

Citizens of a large number of nations (including EU, US, UK, Japan, Korea, India, China, a number of South-East-Asian countries and more) enjoy visa-free entry to Thailand for up to 60 days. Some others can obtain a visa-on-arrival at the airport for up to 15 days.

Participants are expected to arrange their own accommodations. Reservations should not be difficult to make via, e.g., booking.com or other similar sites, or by contacting the hotels directly. Being an epicenter of a gigantic tourist industry, Bangkok offers plentiful accommodations at all luxury levels, priced considerably lower than the general international standards. It should not be difficult to find housing within 1km of the workshop location indicated on this map.

Climatic conditions in Bangkok are advantageous during the season of the workshop (roughly corresponding to a pleasantly warm and sunny summer in temperate countries).
